2014-2015 Annual Inspirations Blog Hop

Hello there and welcome to the Evergreen Memories Team Annual Inspirations Blog Hop!!! I was very fortunate to swap artwork using products from the new 2014-2015 Annual Inspirations catalog with a fabulous group of ladies. You should have just hopped from Cindy's Blog and her beautiful projects made with Paper Fundamentals.

Did you know that Close To My Heart’s catalog will be released once a year and it is FULL of brand new products?!? There are plenty of holiday ideas to play with as well! My swap projects used a new paper packet called Chalk It Up. It is perfect for School themed layouts but I chose to do a more brainiac theme since not everyone has kids in school. J

For my 12x12 “Nerdy” layout, I modified the Additional Layout for the Chalk It Up Workshop on the Go scrapbooking kit. The title was created by using the Handwritten Print Alphabet Set. I had quite a LOT of fun using the new Geek Is Chic stamp set – it was hard to choose which stamps to use! How can you not like phrases such as "TRUE brainiac" or "So adorkable?" The colors I incorporated were Lagoon, Sorbet, and a new color called Flaxen. Embellishments used were also the all new Chalk It Up Assortment and Black Striped Twill ribbon.

For my Chalk It Up card layouts, I chose to do 2 cards and 1 Picture My Life journaling card. I love how the papers and colors coordinate! I even used one of the zip strips from the paper pack for my 3x3 "Hi!" card.

Here’s a close up of the owl card. I had lots of fun making him. I used the Artiste Cricut cartridge to cut out the body shape and then stamped the wings using this month’s What a Hoot Stamp of the Month. I stamped the glasses from the Geek is Chic stamp set with our pigment ink in Sorbet and then embossed the frames. Next, I used Liquid Glass to make the lenses shiny. Doesn’t my owl look so wise?

The owl's beak is a Durables Triangle Stud embellishment and the sentiment was from the Chalk It Up Workshop on the Go stamp set. The “Thanks” inside the card was from the set that comes with the Artiste Cricut cartridge. Some Teal Shimmer Trim gives it a nice sparkle.

I hope you have enjoyed my page. Now hop on over to Tracie's Blog to see her awesome creations with Snowhaven!

"A Chocolate Affair" and "You Are My Happy" Blog Hop

Greetings! I can't believe it is almost Fall! Time to get some crafting done :) I am excited to be a part of this blog hop to show some of the latest stamp specials that are available from Close To My Heart. You should have arrived from Michele's blog with her fun cards.

I had fun playing with "A Chocolate Affair" - I couldn't decide which kind of chocolate to make - just like when I am baking! I used colors and swatches from Pro Player. I was hesitating to use this because it is such a "guy" paper set but I found that the pages also work great as a neutral and I actually used an itty-bitty piece on top for my "sprinkles."  I also used my ever-handy Blending Pen to shade in the filling with my Ruby inkpad. Yum, I am going to go find some cake now! Head on over to see Lalia's Happy artwork!
